Studs and Spikes Everywhere!

I was having a conversation with a girlfriend the other day and we were talking about, how every single fashion item, that is out there right now, has some type of studs on it (it was a very deep conversation topic).
It's true, you can find anything, from clothing items, like shirts, jeans, jackets etc, to accessories, like belts, bags, necklaces... and even other random stuff, like phone cases or key chains.

The fashion world seems to be obsessed with studs and spikes and so am I! Without even noticing, I ended up with a huge number of studded clothing items and accessories and I still want more.

Gold, silver or copper, pyramid shaped, flat or spiked, studs provide a rock element to an outfit.
Depending on how edgy your style is, you can go flashy, with lots of noticeable studs, or subtle.
I usually prefer to only wear one studded item, to give just a slight rock vibe to my look and not go overboard.

Pair studded items with leather (a jacket or leggings) and biker boots, army boots, or Doc Marten's for an unforgettable grunge look!
Another great pairing is to wear them with a well fitting blazer, to create a very elegant contrast.

Lace & Leather

Mixing contrasting patterns, colors or materials, can give a staggering outcome!
This time I chose to combine the "romantic" and "girly" lace with the "rock" and "grunge" leather.

With minimal makeup and jewellery, this outfit is very natural, but at the same time edgy and daring. The color scheme I chose consists of basic colors, such as beige and black.
The vivid colored belt brings the outfit together in a very lively way.

The lace nail design is a cute little detail, that compliments the look and completes it.
The colors I chose are beige and white, to go along with the overall color combination.
It's a very sweet and dainty manicure.

Don't hesitate to try any combinations, that you have in mind, because you never know how interesting the outcome will be!

Accessories Trends!

Fashion isn't just about the clothes. It's also about the jewellery, the scarves, the shoes, the bags, the belts, or in other words, the accessories!
Accessories are a very important part of an outfit. By keeping constant the same main pieces (e.g. a t-shirt and a pair of jeans) and changing the accessories, you can create many different types of outfits (from casual to dressy, from romantic to grunge, from day to night etc).

Since accessories are such a substantial part of our daily fashion choices, it would be wrong not to talk about the main accessories trends for this season. It's mostly all about being flashy, colorful and grunge.

Hair Accessories

Hair Accessories are a trend on their own. Wear your elaborate headbands and hair clips to make any hairstyle even more stylish.

Woolen Knit Scarves

For the cold winter days, you need more than just a jacket to keep you warm. A woolen scarf will do the trick. Dare choosing one in a bright color, it will make your day!

Stacking Bracelets

The last few season statement jewellery has been a must have. We've seen statement necklaces and earrings and now it's time for statement arm "candy". Stack matching bracelets on your wrist for an eye catching look.

Colorful Bags

Bright colors are not just for the spring and summer season. You can add a pop of color to an outfit by carrying a colorful clutch or purse.

Brogues and Oxfords

Shoes are one of girls' best friends. Add a sophisticated androgynous touch to your outfits by wearing brogues or oxford shoes. Choose the perfect pair for you (nude, colorful, flat, high heeled) and step out.

Ankle Boots

Ankle Boots are the perfect shoe choice for the fall and winter seasons. You can choose from many different types to suit your personal sense of style.

Nail Marbling!

Have you heard of Nail Marbling before? If you haven't, or even if you have and want to know more about it, keep reading and you'll leave this post a Nail Marbling "expert"!

First of all, what is Nail Marbling?
It's a nail art technique that combines water and nail polish to create marble-like designs. These designs can either be random and abstract, like the ones you will see in the pictures below, or specific - if you're a "pro".
Whatever the designs are, they always provide a stunning result, leaving everyone wondering, how you could have done this manicure all by your self.

What you need to create a Nail Marble design on your own, you most probably already have at home:
A (plastic) container: preferably one that you don't need, because after you use it for this technique, it won't be reusable, unless you want to water marble again.
Tap or mineralised water: in room temperature.
A toothpick: or any other pointy tool.
2-4 nail polishes: any colors and combinations you like best.
Base coat: to protect your nails.
Topcoat: to seal in your design.
Nail polish remover and cotton pads or q-tips: because it's gonna get messy, for sure.

To save your self from a very long clean up afterwards you can use either
Duct tape
or Chap stick.

Another thing you will definitely need, if you're gonna use this technique, is time. It will take you around 20 to 50 minutes for the whole process.

If it's your first time, you will also need some patience, because there's always something that won't work properly. Experiment with different types of water and also different nail polishes, to see which work best for you.

Now you know the basics about Nail Marbling and what you need to create designs using this technique. Now it's time for you to learn how it's done.
The video linked below will show you everything left for you to know. You will see a step by step tutorial of the Nail Marbling technique. It also includes all the tips you need to know, to achieve perfect results.

Nail Marbling takes some practice until you master it, but the result is always worth the trouble!
Have fun creating your own unique designs!

Metallics & Leather

Today I have a new outfit for you, that is appropriate for many occasions, because it's cosy and comfortable but at the same time it's glamorous and almost dressy.

It combines two of my favorite trends, metallics and leather.
To incorporate the metallics trend in this outfit I chose a pair of dark gold ballet flats, an oversized sweater with copper/gold sequins and a gold clutch. For another metallic touch in this look I went for a gold to copper smokey eye.
The black leather leggings are a perfect match with the metallic details of this outfit. They give an edgy twist to the look.

For hair I decided to go with a simple messy side fishtail braid and for makeup I did a golden smokey eye, as I already mentioned. For the lip color I chose a dark orangy red lipstick and combined it with almost the same color oversized stud earrings. Finally, to not add more clutter to the outfit, I went for a dusty pink nail color.

In general, metallics and leather go great together and depending on the items you choose you can create many different types of outfits.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different choices, so that you'll find the ones that suit your personal style best.
